Today, I’m taking you on a culinary adventure to a hidden gem in Yeongdeungpo-gu: the T-sis Cafeteria (티시스 군혜식당), located in the basement of the Heungkuk Life building at 2 Gil, Beodeunaru-ro. Let’s go!

Finding the T-sis Cafeteria

According to online sources, it’s about a 15-minute walk from Singil Station. However, I found it to be more like a 5-7 minute stroll. The weather was lovely, making it a pleasant walk. I checked for alternative routes on the way back, but Singil Station seemed to be the closest. This is based on walking; travel times may vary if you’re driving or using other modes of transport.

If you’re coming from Yeouido towards Singil Station, you’ll spot the Heungkuk Life building. The T-sis Cafeteria is located on the 1st basement floor. It’s easy to find, but not many people seem to know about it, which is why I’m sharing this hidden gem with you!

Google Search Assessment: I performed a Google search for “Restaurants near Heungkuk Life Insurance Yeongdeungpo” and “T-sis Cafeteria Yeongdeungpo”. The Google Maps results confirm the location of Heungkuk Life Insurance building. While T-sis Cafeteria doesn’t have its own dedicated business listing with extensive reviews, the general area has a mix of restaurants, from Korean BBQ to casual dining. The search results highlight the area as a business district, meaning many lunch options cater to office workers. It’s likely many locals are aware of the cafeteria, but its presence is not widely advertised, contributing to its ‘hidden gem’ status. Let’s head inside! The cafeteria is located on the 1st basement floor. Turn right at the entrance, and you’ll see the stairs leading down.

Inside the Cafeteria

Once you’re on the 1st basement floor, turn right again, and you’ll find the cafeteria. At the entrance, you can see the menu for today and tomorrow, the main dish, and the origin of the ingredients.

Go inside, turn right, and purchase your meal ticket at the GS25 convenience store. Remember, the price is ₩6,500 – an incredible deal!

The Food and Experience

I’ve heard that the *Budae Jjigae* (Korean army stew) is delicious today! Even just that one dish seems worth it. The aroma is fantastic. It seems you have to take a tray for serving yourself.

Out of all the cafeteria meals I’ve had, this one is excellent! A single dish like this would cost a lot more outside. It makes me feel good. The potato side dish is also great.

My dining experience at T-sis was exceptional.

Final Thoughts

I enjoyed a delicious lunch at T-sis Cafeteria for just ₩6,500. The food quality and variety were excellent, especially the *Budae Jjigae*. Those who know about this place probably visit often. If you haven’t heard of it yet, why not try T-sis Cafeteria for lunch tomorrow?
